Doug Smith Founded Douglas Smith Design in 1991. So 22 years now.
Chris Williamson has been working with Doug since 1994.

How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Prior to founding my own business, I had worked throughout many facets of the graphic arts field since 1983—initially as an outdoor billboard layout artist and pictorial painter, next a stint in the silkscreen industry, and then in corporate graphics departments and national design studios. (And freelancing on the side all the way along.) My traditional skills—paste-ups, marker renderings, illustration, type specifications, technical expertise of hand and camera production—gave me a foundation for the transformation that's taken place over the past 2 decades. Today's high-tech digital processes make it an ever-changing, educational, creative and exciting industry to work in.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Because of our unique office situation we can offer the lowest prices on design and printing service around. Our office has been located inside a large trade printing facility for the last 21 years. Large and small companies alike choose use because we deliver materials on time, on target and on budget.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Most of our work is done remotely over the internet. We do travel to locations for photography or meetings with local companies. When printing, we just walk the project over to prepress and watch the entire project from start to finish.
